The Wrigley Rooftops

I recently had an interesting exchange with a 7th grader in Illinois. She interviewed me for a project she was preparing for the Illinois History Fair Expo. Her subject: the rooftops across the street from Wrigley Field's outfield. Her project was rated "superior" by the judges. Read the exchange I had with her here.

Big League ballpark notes

Following several injuries to fans in 2015, MLB is pushing its teams to add more netting to protect fans from foul balls and broken bats ... The Padres announced upgrades to Petco Park (left) that will be ready for the 2016 season. The biggest will be a two-level social area in RF ... Major League teams are anxious to obtain email addresses and demographic info on fans so they can fill more of the seats in their ballparks ... Very clever! Callaway golf products have teamed up with the Padres to create a nine-hole golf course within Petco Park ... The Braves are truly developing a year-round dining and entertainment area just outside their new ballpark. The development is called The Battery Atlanta. Watch the stunning video ... The US Supreme Court refused to hear an anti-trust claim from San Jose against MLB, which sought to force the sport to permit the A's to build a new park in the city's downtown.
